This book is based on a true story and unfolds an intriguing tale of love between an unassuming Ronnie and his spirited lady love, Adira, set in Delhi. Ronnie unwittingly tried hard to woo Adira initially from a distance and later persuasively. Although he knows she is way out of his league. Out of the blue, life offers him an unexpected chance to profess his love to Adira during an on-site job opportunity. Eventually, she reciprocates and admires him for his honesty and simplicity. The book narrates the family dynamics at play and her efforts to gain her mother’s acceptance, both for herself and for Ronnie. The plot ultimately leads to an unforeseen twist in the end.
The book’s pacing was fast and gripping. However, little is known about Adira’s perspectives and family circumstances comparatively throughout the book. Even though there are many characters with different traits, none can be considered significant.
The book’s title is apt as it mirrors the emotional turmoil in the guise of memories that are sometimes regrets, doubts, or magical moments shared between Ronnie and Adira.
Definitely recommended for casual, breezy reading.
